One of the Largest Residential Concrete Pours in Pompano Beach in Nearly a Decade
On Oct. 12 and 14, the construction site for Sabbia Beach, the first ultra-luxury oceanfront residential development in Pompano Beach in almost a decade, was the scene of roughly 1,000 cubic yards of concrete being poured to form the 19-story development’s foundation. Truck after truck (approximately 100 in total) rotated to pour the concrete, making it one of the largest residential concrete pours in Pompano Beach in almost 10 years.
On Oct. 12, the pour started at 10 a.m. and lasted approximately seven hours; the scene repeated itself on Oct. 14 as dozens of concrete mixers lined up along Ocean Blvd. to take their turn for almost seven hours, pouring the concrete for the new high rise condo.
“The concrete pour is a great milestone for Sabbia Beach,” said Danny Salvatore, a partner in Fernbrook Florida, the developer of Sabbia Beach. “A pour for a structure of this size and grandeur requires the great expertise that Fernbrook Florida possesses and is proud to bring to the South Florida market.”
Now under construction, Sabbia Beach is estimated to be completed by the second quarter of 2018. With only 68 residences, Sabbia Beach is designed by renowned Miami firm Arquitectonica; tropical landscaping is by ArquitectonicaGEO. The general contractor is Verdex Construction. The development, situated on 200 linear feet of pristine South Florida shoreline, is one of the last places in South Florida offering new construction directly on the sand.
