The breathtaking 19-story structure that is Sabbia Beach, Pompano Beach’s first ultra-luxury oceanfront residential development in almost a decade, continues to progress with construction. With completion slated for the second quarter of 2018, Sabbia Beach construction is 100 percent financed by Ocean Bank, the largest independent state chartered commercial bank headquartered in Florida.
“With all the building’s funding in place, including a $45 million construction loan from Ocean Bank, Sabbia Beach is well on its way to completion,” said Danny Salvatore, a partner in Fernbrook Florida, LLLP, the developer of Sabbia Beach. “The foundation is in place, and we are anticipating to soon start working on the individual floors. One of the last developments in South Florida offering new construction directly on the sand, Sabbia Beach is an extremely viable and solid investment as a home purchase.”
Two leading international residential developers — Fernbrook Homes of Ontario, Canada, which has developed more than four million square feet of residential high rises; and Grupo Fernandez, Venezuela’s largest construction company — comprise Fernbrook Florida.
In mid-October of this year, approximately 100 trucks poured roughly 1,000 cubic yards of concrete to form Sabbia Beach’s foundation. It was one of the largest residential concrete pours in Pompano Beach in almost 10 years.
As of today, 350 auger cast concrete piles drilled to a depth of approximately 60 feet have been completed. By the end of November, all the concrete pile caps will have been completed along with the first floor concrete columns which support not only the tower portion of the building, but also the podium which houses the two-level parking structure.
Fernbrook Florida leaders foresee completing one floor of Sabbia Beach per seven working days, finishing the concrete portion of the construction by mid-summer 2017. This will start once the concrete is poured for Sabbia Beach’s parking structure.
The tower crane is now operating. Once it is ready to “jump” to its final height, it will lift the final section of mast into place.
Located on 200 linear feet of pristine South Florida shoreline, Sabbia Beach offers only 68 residences. Each residence is elegantly appointed with large living areas; floor-to-ceiling glass; spacious wraparound terraces featuring awe-inspiring ocean, city or Intracoastal views; and gourmet kitchens. Sabbia Beach offers two-, three- and four-bedroom residences priced from the $900,000s, and one remaining penthouse priced at $5.9 million.
Extraordinary resort-style amenities include an exotic, oceanside ultra-contemporary heated pool, state-of-the-art fitness center that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, spa with massage treatment rooms, and his and hers steam rooms and saunas. The building features a yoga area, plus a 3,600-square-foot multi-purpose social room. Additional luxurious features include 24-hour valet parking and Tesla charging stations.
Sabbia Beach was designed by renowned Miami firm Arquitectonica, and tropical landscaping is by ArquitectonicaGEO. Interior design is by the award-winning Interiors by Steven G. The general contractor is Verdex Construction.
The development is a major part of the renaissance of Pompano Beach, which is transforming into an upscale, vibrant and multi-dimensional destination for those who want to shop, play, work and live on the oceanside. The city’s downtown area will soon be home to a creative arts district and cultural arts center; high-end stores and restaurants are popping up along central business corridors. Pompano Beach’s east side will soon be an energetic oceanfront village of shops, restaurants including Pompano Beach House and Oceanic Oceanfront Dining. A new $16 million parking garage opened in July; an $11.3 million fishing pier is being planned.
Another upcoming attraction is Pompano Beach Shipwreck Park, a world-class wreck diving and ecotourism site, home to the 324-foot Lady Luck, which sank 1½ miles offshore in July 2016.
Sabbia Beach is located at 730 North Ocean Boulevard. Its Sales Gallery is located at 723 N. Ocean Blvd. For more information or to schedule a private preview, please call 954-781-9700.
