For decades, conventional wisdom has declared the end of the condominium. At least since the 1990s, buyers have been warned that an investment in a condo is a mistake.

But guess what? The condo market is alive and thriving, especially in South Florida. The year-over-year change for condos and townhouses in our area from August 2015 to August 2016 increased a healthy 3.3%. Even better is the 6.7% hike in the median sales price across that same period.

1. Luxury living
