Six Reasons to Choose Condo Living

For decades, conventional wisdom has declared the end of the condominium. At least since the 1990s, buyers have been warned that an investment in a condo is a mistake.

But guess what? The condo market is alive and thriving, especially in South Florida. The year-over-year change for condos and townhouses in our area from August 2015 to August 2016 increased a healthy 3.3%. Even better is the 6.7% hike in the median sales price across that same period.

If you’re thinking of condo living, especially at beautiful Sabbia Beach, now is the time to make your move. Here are five more reasons you should consider investing in condo life.

1. Luxury living

If you want to live in a place like Sabbia Beach, be prepared to land in the lap of luxury. High-end condos offer amenities you could never match in a single-family home, with the added advantage that someone else maintains it all for you. Aside from the opulent features of each residence, you’ll enjoy such features as a fitness center, concierge, multipurpose social room, steam rooms and saunas, a spa with treatment rooms, a beachfront pool and Jacuzzi, and valet parking.

2. Equity and tax advantages over renting

Assuming the monthly rental cost of a place you wish to live is comparable to the cost of owning a condo, you will still come out ahead with the condominium once you factor in the equity you will build in the condo and the mortgage tax deduction that comes with ownership.

3. No yard to mow

Whether you’re young and starting out with a high-pressure career that leaves no time for yard work, or ready to retire after decades of do-it-yourself landscaping, you’ll never have to touch a lawn mower, or trimmer, or leaf blower. No bags of fertilizer or mulch, or mixing and spreading pesticides. All that is taken care of for you, yet you can still enjoy the lush tropical landscaping around the condo.

4. No repairs/maintenance

Yard duties are not the only thing you’ll be free of in a condo. Dripping faucets, a leaky roof, exterior painting, electrical issues, all included in your condo fee, all handled by someone else. Of course, in a brand-new facility like Sabbia Beach, such issues won’t be a factor for some time to come.

5. A sense of community

You’ll have nearby neighbors with whom you can readily form friendships. Social opportunities abound when compared with living in a single-family home, from accidental meetings in hallways and common areas to condo association meetings to social events in the community. And because neighbors are in such close proximity, neighbors with whom you become friendly can give you a hand with moving that sofa or hanging that picture.
